The launch issue of modern carpets & textiles for interiors was published in September 2005. This is the first publication to echo the vibrancy of the fast-growing international market for fine hand-made carpets and artist textiles. With a focus on innovation and market trends in the industry, the magazine celebrates weaving and hand-knotting.

The seventeenth issue (illustrated here) was published in November 2009 under the new title COVER. The change of title reflects the expansion of our brief to cover a wider range of products and events, but our focus remains hand-made carpets and artist fabrics. Matthew Bourne of Christopher Farr Carpets guest edits this very special edition where we examine Etro's story of love for textile heritage, which has been the soul of the Etro brand. Insight examines the works of Joe Carini, the new York rug producer, and the alchemy of fabric design by the Paris-based Luc Druez. Our In Situ feature explores the exciting new site specific projects from Dutch rug company ICE. We discover who the hidden talents behind all the big textile and design companies are, and Product Selector showcases Aerial View Rugs. Retail Report hails the best North American retailers and there’s a great guide to the fairs and exhibitions taking place this season from Atlanta to Maison et Objet via DOMOTEX HANNOVER. Other highlights include: Rug creations from fashion designer Tracey Boyd; Grayson Perry's Walthamstow tapestry; the 1000 best interior details according to Ian and Geraldine Rudge; the legacy of Annie Albers and the re-invention of the Fortuny fabric brand…the list just goes on!!!

The cover price is £5.

“There are very few design publications that are capable of stimulating rug enthusiasts from manufacturers to consumer. HALI has filled a large void in the design industry by providing individuals, from all professions, with a fabulous resource. Modern carpets & textiles focuses more on art and design, instead of merely rugs and rug accessories. Our designs are like our clientele, unique and unparalleled: therefore we feel right at home with modern carpets & textiles, a magazine dedicated to setting and pushing current trends.”  RYAN HIGGINS, TAMARIAN CARPETS
