The launch issue of modern carpets & textiles for interiors was published in September 2005. This is the first publication to echo the vibrancy of the fast-growing international market for fine hand-made carpets and artist textiles. With a focus on innovation and market trends in the industry, the magazine celebrates weaving and hand-knotting.

COVER 26 takes an overview of the all important Salone del Mobile in Milan in April, including COVER's exhibition Forza Tappeti: The Rug Revolution (click HERE for more information on the show). We cover the very best rug and textile highlights from the January fairs Domotex Hanover, Americasmart Atlanta, Maison et Objet and Deco Off Paris plus a gamut of new and exciting products, the latest events and upcoming exhibitions.

COVER talks to the internationally acclaimed and multiple award winning design duo Studio Job, former students of the famous Design Academy Eindhoven, who have collaborated with the likes of Moooi, Viktor & Rolf, Swarovski and have recently been designing a series of sensational rugs with Italian rug aficionados Nodus. Studio Job’s latest rug designs will be revealed.

World famous artists take the hot seat this issue as we look at the rugs and textiles designed by individuals such as Gavin Turk, Gary Hume, Barbara Hepworth, Henry Moore and Debbie Lawson. Furthermore, we talk to the artists involved in Rug Star’s exciting new project with China’s most revered practitioners to design a series of new rugs. New York artist Joseph La Piana discusses his stunning new rug collection made in collaboration with Nying Zemo while NY carpet company Warp & Weft reveal the winners of the company’s student rug competition. Humour comes aplenty with Dan Golden’s brilliant cartoon rugs and household designs plus Agustina Woodgate’s new teddy bear skin rugs.

Stunning textiles come from the uber-talented Claudia Caviezel, who designs for the likes of Jakob Schlaepfer and Atelier Pfister and whose work has adorned catwalks across the globe. We take an in-depth look at the current international trend for knitting and knitted products in interiors.

Australia comes under the spotlight in our rug buying report while COVER takes a close look at the importance of rugs in interior design, with an examination of how the rug has developed over history as a warmth giver and space divider. All this in the next issue plus so much more!

The cover price is £5.

“There are very few design publications that are capable of stimulating rug enthusiasts from manufacturers to consumer. HALI has filled a large void in the design industry by providing individuals, from all professions, with a fabulous resource. Modern carpets & textiles focuses more on art and design, instead of merely rugs and rug accessories. Our designs are like our clientele, unique and unparalleled: therefore we feel right at home with modern carpets & textiles, a magazine dedicated to setting and pushing current trends.”  RYAN HIGGINS, TAMARIAN CARPETS
